Problem with Bohr Theory: WHY L = n? ?

• have integers with standing waves:

n(?/2) = L

• consider circular path for standing wave:

n? = 2?r and so from Bohr theory:

L = mvr = n? = nh/2????get 2?r = nh/mv = n??

which means ? = h/mv = h/p .
