Nuclear Reactors CANNOT explode as a nuclear bomb, since the reaction must involve thermal (slow) neutrons to proceed.
Once the reaction starts to go wild, the heat generated will destroy the careful geometry needed to have the neutrons slow down. Without slow neutrons, the reaction will die out.
