Electric Field Example

Here we recognize this as an example of the electric field due to a point charge, so we can use: E = kq/r2 .

E (mag) = (9 x 109 Nt-m2/C2) * (1/6 x 10-19C) / (1 x 10-10m)2 = 1.44 x 1011 Nt/Coul.

E(dir) points away from the positive charge.
