Plate of charge
When we had a line of charge, we had a problem that involved an integral. Unless the geometry was pretty simple, the integral was hard to do.
For a plate of charge, we need to consider small areas of charge, instead of small lines of charge. This makes the resulting integral a double integral (over both x and y), and the geometry is now three dimensional instead of sometimes just two!
