Generalizing

We have from the previous apparatus:

DV = v B L .

We note that v = Dw/Dt where w is the width of the circuit (distance from end of rails to bar), so DV = (Dw/Dt) B L .

Can we take the D /Dt and apply it to all the variables: DV = D(B L w) / Dt ?

From experiment, YES!
