IR + L dI/dt = Vbattery

The homogeneous equation is: LdI/dt + RI = 0.

This has a dying exponential solution:

IH(t) = Io e-(R/L) t .

The inhomogeneous equation is:

L dI/dt + RI = Vbattery .

This has the simple solution: II(t) = Vbattery / R.
