Dr. Dawson

The spotlight shines on Dr. David Dawson.

Title: Associate Professor of Chemistry.

Length of service at CBU: Dr. Dawson has been teaching at CBU since 2001.

Courses regularly taught: Organic Chemistry I (Chem 211 and lab (Chem 211L) and Organic Chemistry II (Chem 212 and lab Chem 212L).

Formal Education: Dr. Dawson graduated from Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes) in 1987 with a B.S. in Chemistry. He also graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1992 with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.

Background: Dr. Dawson was born and raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He attended Southside High School in Ft. Smith.

Professional interests: Dr. Dawson’s interests are in the synthesis of organic molecules and organometallic complexes. The molecules’ and complexes’ properties are then investigated.

Interests: Dr. Dawson’s hobbies are digital imaging, genealogy, college basketball and spending time with his two sons (born in 2003 and in 2005).
