The spotlight shines on Mrs. Leah Allen.
Title: Administrative Assistant
Length of service at CBU: Leah started work here at CBU in January, 2005.
After spending the prevous six years working in an elementary school office, Leah is enjoying the “calm” School of Sciences office environment (no lost lunches, forgotten lunch money, missed busses, aches and pains requiring a band aid and bag of ice, calls from frantic parents whose children went home with friends, unbeknownst to them)!
Background: Leah was born and raised in Memphis, and attended the University of Memphis. She is married to Dennis, the Retail Sales Director for OK Foods, and they have four children: Lauren, a recently married second grade teacher; Lee, a 2005 ME graduate from CBU who will be entering UTSI as a research assistant for his graduate work this fall (07); Craig, a 2007 graduate in Accounting at CBU; and Blake, who will be in eleventh grade at Christian Brothers High School in the fall.
Interests: When she’s not at work, Leah can most often be found at a baseball field (Blake plays baseball for CBHS, and Craig is a coach for the spring and summer teams at CBHS) cheering for the Brothers, often traveling with the team, and of course, eating out after the game(s). She also enjoys traveling with Dennis-one of the most memorable recent trips included the rain forest in Puerto Rico. Leah makes an effort to walk three miles or go to the gymn four or five days a week, and if there should be a quiet minute in the day, she loves to sit down with a good book.
