Nuclear Energy is one of the largest sources of electricity in the world, with a solid and relatively small waste which can easily be disposed of safely.
Since the fuel is inert and relatively small in volume, a nation can obtain a 'lifetime' supply of fuel, and obtain energy-independence by recycling the first-used fuel many times.
