This equation is most often solved using numerical techniques. The simplest is a variation of Riemann sums. The more complex use more advanced numerical integration techniques (some taught in our Applied Analysis course!) and a method called Monte Carlo. (Monte Carlo methods are statistical methods using probability and random sampling techniques.)
