è 1. With Spring Break coming up next week, I implore you, PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY, and get a designated driver if you have to.

Earlier this month, Barbara Huntington sent me a PowerPoint file about Jacqueline Saburido, now 23 years old, who at the age of 19, was involved in a fiery car crash caused by a drunk driver. The "before" pictures show her to be a vibrant, vivacious, enthusiastic girl, who loved to swim and spend her time with family and friends. There is then a photograph of the car she was in, completely burned. The "after" pictures are very disturbing, and they can be viewed at http://www.cbu.edu/~seisen/WhatADrunkDriverCanDo/index.htm . She has agreed to appear on a series of new TV ads sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety.

If you would like more information about Jacqui, there is a full story on the accident and her current involvement with prevention. If you are interested please check out the link below.

è 3. Why last Monday's Youth & Vitality vs. Old Age & Deceit Charity Volleyball Game was so important, from the Church Health Center point of view. From an e-mail sent to me by Ms. Mary Gilleland, Director of Public Relations.

"Let me tell you why this is so important to the CHC beside just the money- it builds awareness of our ministry among younger potential donors and volunteers. Demographically it is currently true that most of our donors and volunteers are older - which makes for a pretty lean pool of supporters twenty years from now. You are giving us the opportunity to share our ministry with our "future" caregivers."

By the way, we received a wonderful letter ( http://www.cbu.edu/~seisen/CHCThankYouLetter2003.jpg ) and certificate
(http://www.cbu.edu/~seisen/CHCCertificate2003.jpg ) for our project.

Many thanks to those of you who participated or attended!

è 5. BACCHUS/GAMMA will be sponsoring Safe Spring Break Activities during the week of March 3-7.

I wanted to remind everyone that next week is BACCHUS' Safe Spring Break! This is our annual event when we promote healthy lifestyles over spring break. I have order new materials, especially cups and other favors, to hand out during lunch. Also, the national BACCHUS network sponsers a giveway. This year it is Jeep so people can enter by signing a spring break promise at the table! Therefore, we need people to sit at the table daily during lunch in the cafeteria to hand things out. The times available are Monday - Thursday 11:30, 12, 12:30, and 1. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can work any of these times!!

Thanks everyone!

Katie Fields
