Caduceus Newsletter:  SPECIAL EDITION:  A proposal for Chuckie Darwin’s Birthday

As you know, the 198th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birthday is Monday, February 12.  I humbly suggest that we celebrate Chuckie’s birthday with an Olympic Ape Triathlon, involving any of the following activities:

Chimpanzee Triple-Jump:  Contestant begins at starting tape on a 4-point stance, i.e. with both feet AND knuckles of both hands on the ground.  Contestant then jumps 3 times, but knuckles of both hands MUST touch the ground at the end of each component jump.

The Great Gorilla Run:    Unicycle is optional.

Coconut Shot Put:  The Coconut Shot Put is very much like any other Shot Put competition, except you use a coconut instead of the weighted red ball that is used by the contestant shown here.

Mate-calling contest from the landing on the 2nd floor of the Alfonso Dining Hall:  Johnny Weismuller, Olympic swimmer for the United States, is better known for his role as Tarzan.  Nearing the conclusion of each movie, when it was time to rid the village of bad guys, he invoked the assistance of all the creatures in the forest by vocalizing a distinctive yell.

To really appreciate Johnny Weismuller’s rendition, PLEASE go to:
