3.  The applicant pool for this past 2009 American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine has increased by 8.79%, reflecting a growing trend among students who are attracted to the osteopathic philosophy of practicing medicine.

The nations’ 25 Osteopathic Medical Colleges and 3 branch campuses are reflecting a growing trend among students that the osteopathic medical philosophy of treating, not just the disease, but the whole person, is how they see themselves practicing medicine.  The growth of our applicant pool this past 2009 AACOMAS cycle reflects that as an increase of 8.79% in applicants.

The 2010 AACOMAS application cycle is set to launch live, the first week of May 2009.  Your applicants will be able to begin their applications and submit them as well.

We hope that the 2010 College Information Book (CIB) will serve your advising needs well this coming cycle.   Our Fast Facts on the AACOM website is also a great source for current and historical data: http://www.aacom.org/about/fastfacts/Pages/default.aspx

If you have any questions about the AIC data, please contact me directly at: gmoses@aacom.org   You may also reach me directly at: 301-968-4184.

Again, on behalf of AACOMAS, we thank you for your invaluable support and continued feedback.   We look forward to our continued collaborations with you.

With best regards,

Gina
