Metamorphosis:                      Incomplete

 

Geographical location:            C. lectularis is cosmopolitan, whereas C. hemipterus is found in West Africa

Symptoms and clinical signs:  Bites are frequently symptomless, but they may disturb sleep, reduce hemoglobin, or induce inflammation.

Treatment/control:                            Residual insecticides.  itching is relieved with calamine lotion.
