Granuloma formation by Schistosoma spp.

Schistosomes, or blood flukes reside in the venules of organs:

·       Schistosoma mansoni:  venules of large intestine

·       Schistosoma japonicum:  venules of small intestine

·       Schistosoma haematobium:  venules of urinary bladder.
