  • Last Day to Withdraw

    Mar 23rd, 2017
    All-day Event

The last day to withdraw from a 16-week Spring course is March 23.  Withdrawals are submitted online via BannerWeb unless you are withdrawing from all classes.  Complete Withdrawals require you to come in to the Registrar’s office.

Things to think about BEFORE you withdraw:

    • Have you spoken with the instructor to see how you are really doing in the class?
    • Have you spoken with your advisor before you withdraw?  Sometimes you need to talk to someone who can help you see the effect of withdrawing from a particular class. Academic Services and CAPS can assist you if your advisor is not available.
    • Is this a co-requisite class?  Is it a pre-requisite for a class you will need to take during the next semester?  If it is, then maybe you should stay in the class and go to the instructor for help.
    • Is the class being offered again in the next semester so that you can stay on track?
    • Are you repeating the course?  There are limits to the number of times you may attempt a course.
      • CBU Repeat Limit (this includes grades of "W"):
        • Undergraduates - 3 enrollments
        • Masters - 2 enrollments
      • For purposes of Title IV aid, a student who has passed a course may repeat it only one time. Repeating a previously passed course a second time (for a total of 3 enrollments) results in the course not counting in the credit hours needed in a term to receive Title IV aid. Students should check with the Student Financial Assistance office.
    • Students who receive or have received the Hope scholarship, international students, veteran benefit recipients, and student athletes have specific regulations regarding enrolled hours for compliance. Check with the Student Financial Assistance office/ Dean of Students/Veteran Benefits Coordinator (Registrar’s Office)/the Faculty Athletic Rep for assistance.
