About Fraternity & Sorority Life

Supporting Catholic Charities

The mission of fraternity and sorority life at CBU is to support the student experience by offering chapters on campus support services that challenge individuals to become the leaders they were meant to be through education, service and social justice, leadership, and social engagement opportunities.

By participating in fraternity and sorority life at CBU, students will become leaders who:

  • Develop a greater sense of responsibility to contribute to one’s own community through advocacy and service.
  • Understand the importance of scholarship and practice of academic responsibility.
  • Hone leadership and relationship-building skills and apply them to strengthen their organizations and communities.
  • Consider identities, privileges, and preferences.
  • Articulate how their co-curricular involvement integrates with their personal and professional goals.
  • Identify personal interests, values, strengths, and identities and use these attributes to positively shape their communities.
  • Demonstrate an increased sense of belonging at Christian Brothers University.

CBU has three governing councils that are in charge of helping guide and direct our 12 social organizations. Apart from these governing councils, two professional fraternities also exist on campus. The following chart illustrates the community that makes up our Greek life family at CBU.
