Presidential Inauguration
Join us in celebrating the Presidential Inauguration of David L. Archer, Christian Brothers University’s 24th president, through a variety of events from Thursday, November 17, to Saturday, November 19, 2022.
MEET THE PRESIDENT
David L. Archer was appointed President of Christian Brothers University by the Board of Trustees on April 26, 2022. His Presidential Inauguration will be held on November 19, 2022 — the 151st anniversary of the founding of CBU.
Archer was a full-time Associate Professor in the CBU School of Business and the Director of the Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management (HMBA) program since 2017, and was appointed Interim President in November 2021. Prior to joining CBU, Archer was CEO at St. Francis Healthcare in Memphis from 1997 to his retirement in 2016, during which time he oversaw the additions to the healthcare system of Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, the Ambulatory Surgery Center, the Heart & Vascular Center, and the physician-practice entity, Saint Francis Medical Partners. Before his tenure at St. Francis, he served as CEO or administrator of hospitals and healthcare centers in Missouri, California, Texas, Florida, and Arkansas.
President Archer and his wife Erin met in New York City in the 1980s while working for Covenant House, a lay Catholic community that serves homeless and trafficked children. They have three sons — John, Greg, and James — and a daughter, Mary.
Well Wishes Submit your well wishes to President David Archer as he begins service as CBU’s next president.Presidential Inauguration Event Schedule
