Brother Joel Baumeyer, FSC

Brother Joel Baumeyer, FSC was born on November 30, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended Christian Brothers College High School until he entered the Order in 1954. He received both his B.A. and M.Ed. from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and his M.A. (1977) and Ph.D. (1979) from St. Louis University. Brother Joel has taught in schools in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. He came to CBU in 1979 and since has taught numerous courses in mathematics. He presently serves as Math Center Director since his semi-retirement in 2011. He is a Professor Emeritus, has received the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award, the Dr. Marguerite Cooper Distinguished Professor Award, and the Outstanding Campus Advisor Award. For over 25 years he was a reader for the visually impaired on WYPL-FM. He is a lover of opera and classical music.
