BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Gulf South Conference men's soccer coaches voted seven Christian Brothers University Bucs to the All-GSC teams announced today, with head coach Clint Browne winning GSC Coach of the Year for the third time.
Junior goalkeeper Britton McGuire was voted First Team All-GSC after leading the GSC with an 0.56 goals against average, an .842 save percentage and a .500 shutout percentage. He started all 16 games and played 1448 of 1460 minutes in goal this season.
Senior defender Sean Rutter was voted First Team All-GSC after scoring one goal with two assists for four points. He started 14 games at defender. He was also voted Second Team All-GSC as a freshman and sophomore.
Senior forward Jose Ferraz was voted First Team All-GSC after scoring 11 goals with two assists for 24 points. He ranks second in the GSC in goals and points. He is the third player in GSC history to be a four-time First-Team All-GSC selection, joining Matthew Wheatley of Montevallo (1996-99) and William Jagwe of Alabama-Huntsville (1996-99).
Freshman forward Brendan Bennett was one of two freshmen voted to the All-GSC First Team after scoring four goals with one assist for nine points. He started all 16 games.
Freshman defender Andrew Forrest was voted Second Team All-GSC. He started all 16 games at defender and finished second on the team to McGuire with 1,423 minutes played.
Senior midfielder Shane Keely was voted Second Team All-GSC after scoring three goals with one assist for seven points. He started all 16 games and finished third on the team with 1,379 minutes played.
Sophomore midfielder Diego Silva Vieira was voted Second Team All-GSC after scoring two goals with four assists for eight points. He started all 16 games.
Browne won the Coach of the Year award or the third time, as he also won in 2005 and 2011.
