Biography

Amy Harkness is a native Memphian and obtained her undergraduate degree from Baptist College of Health Sciences. In 2006 she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Health Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She continued to work as a sonographer in the Memphis area until 2014 when she realized she wanted to further her education and pursue PA school. She attended The University of Tennessee PA program in Memphis, TN and graduated with High Honors in December 2016. She worked in Family Medicine for 1.5 years after graduation then transitioned into Interventional Radiology where she says her “two worlds collided” and she was able to utilize both her DMS and PA degrees simultaneously. She joined the CBU faculty as an Assistant Professor in November 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and going to any and all concerts she can fit into her schedule.
