Speaker Series

Every semester we host and partner with other campus groups to host panels and speakers on topics related to entrepreneurship. Topics include: how to start a side hustle in college, entrepreneurship as a career, intrapreneurship, funding and financing for your venture, and how to come up with an idea. We are always adding new topics of conversation and would love to hear from you if you have a specific request! These are hosted both virtually and in-person.

ImagineU

Each summer, CBU selects 3-5 students to participate in the ImagineU Summer Entrepreneurship Accelerator, hosted by the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Memphis. The ImagineU Summer Entrepreneurship Accelerator program is a unique, immersive and intensive 12-week entrepreneurial experience in which students learn and live the early-stages of their entrepreneurship journey. This program emphasizes diversity and inclusion. In order to make the experience accessible to all, the program pays participating students a $3,000 stipend. During the program, students will identify problems at the intersections of their passion, experience and knowledge, and will start a company with other students around the most compelling and feasible opportunities identified in the early stages of the program. Applications typically open March 1.

Build-A-Thon 

You don’t need technological expertise or a business background to put your mind and hands to work to build a great product. Build A Thon is for students of all years and all majors! The goal is for students to work in small teams to come up with an idea, build a prototype out of arts & crafts, and pitch it to a panel of judges for prizes and recognition. We do this in a sprint-style fashion over a couple of hours and give you all the tools you need to succeed. Maybe you will build the next big thing!

1:1 Mentorship

If you have never been exposed to entrepreneurship, you might not know if it’s right for you. Maybe you have a great idea, but you are not sure where to begin. Whatever your circumstances, major or chosen career path – we are here to help you through mentorship. Book an introductory meeting with us so we can understand where your entrepreneurial interests lie. We offer mentorship through self-paced modules and office hours.
