Citing Sources Help

Finals are upon us and research papers are coming due! Don't forget that proper citations are as important as the content of your writing.

Whether you've been told to format your paper in APA or MLA citation styles, we can help. Check out our Citing Sources guide for sample citations for the most common sorts of references: books, eBooks, chapters from books, database articles, print articles, articles from the web, encyclopedias, and websites. If you're citing something less common, we have the citation manuals on reserve at the check-out desk. Find the Citing Sources guide in the left sidebar under Research Help, or use the drop down menu under Research Guides:

Many of our databases provide citation help too. For example, EBSCO databases (Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, CINAHL, etc) provide article citations. Find the EBSCO article you intend to use, open the abstract view, and click "Cite" over on the right sidebar. Just be aware that you need to double check any database-generated citations. You will often have to add the proper indents. Don't just copy-and-paste. And if you're stumped, ask us!
