Courses are taught one night per week (6-10PM) in eight-week sessions (on Wednesday or Thursday nights) throughout the year. This program format allows students to earn their MBA in 27 months.
2. What is the tuition cost per credit hour?
Current 2017-2018 per credit hour tuition is $695.00, and it covers the cost for all books, which will be provided the first night of class, and of meals on all class nights during the term.
3. Does the schedule of classes change from year to year?
No, the schedule and core course sequence will remain consistent, so that a student will start and successfully finish their CMBA with their cohort. New cohorts begin every March and October.
4. Do any of your courses have prerequisites?
There are no undergraduate-level prerequisites in the Cohort Master of Business Administration Program. Accepted students are required to take a two-credit hour Orientation course which will serve as an introduction to common business concepts and computer skills, as well as an introduction to the value of a Lasallian education. If a student feels they may benefit from attaining prior knowledge in a particular field before beginning quantitative related graduate business coursework, they may attend special "Prep Courses." These courses will be taught by professors, during "off weeks," in the areas of Accounting, Economics, and Finance. Also, as a student, you are able to attend weekly tutoring sessions in quantitative courses, at no cost.
5. Is this program only for undergraduate business majors?
No, this program was developed for working professionals who are seeking to excel relationally and analytically, in their current and future business endeavors.
6. I have already completed some graduate classes; can I transfer credits?
Up to nine hours of business-related graduate credit may be transferred to satisfy the CMBA elective requirements if approved by the Graduate Business Director.
7. What is the program format?
The CMBA program follows a true, lock-step format. This means each cohort starts and completes their MBA as a cohesive group, which is designed to resemble the students' work environment. All students must attend the two-credit hour Orientation. Once completed, they will begin classes in the MBA Core. Upon completion of the MBA Core, the student must complete nine (9) credit hours of elective/concentration course work, for a total of 35 credit hours.
8. What are possible concentration areas for my CMBA?
Some of the concentrations being offered are General Management, Marketing, Sports Management, Healthcare Management, Project Management, Finance and more. If a specific concentration is not offered in the CMBA program catalog, groups of students may have the opportunity to construct their own concentration at the discretion of the Program Director. Also, the office of Graduate Business Programs has partnered with several outside organizations to provide other concentrations in the areas of Commercial Banking, Leadership, and Non-Profit Management.
