Hangtag Distribution Procedures for 2016-2017

TO:            Residents of Christian Brothers University

FROM:       Office of Student Life

DATE:        August 1, 2016

As the university continues construction on the Rose G. Deal School of Arts this fall, the Office of Student Life will continue to distribute specialized parking tags - in partnership with Campus Police & Safety - for residents living in Rozier Hall, O’Hara Hall, Pender Hall, and the Living Learning Center.

  • Freshman residents will park in the Commuter “overflow” Lot on the campus of Christian Brothers University, behind the Dollar General.
    • Freshman residents may pick up their parking decals between 7:30am – 4:00pm on Friday, August 19th or Saturday, August 20th in the Office of Campus Police & Safety.  Students obtaining a hang tag for this lot must have their student ID, proof of registration, and complete a vehicle registration card in order to receive the hang tag.
  • Upperclassman living in Stritch &Oakdale – as well as masters students living in Avery – will not be able to drive their cars to commuter.  Their hang tags are only permitted in their respective residence lots.
    • These residents may pick up their parking decals between 7:30am – 4:00pm on Saturday, August 20th in the Office of Campus Police & Safety.  Students obtaining a hang tag for this lot must have their student ID, proof of registration, and complete a vehicle registration card in order to receive the hang tag.
  • Upperclassman residents of Maurelian Hall, Pender Hall, O’Hara Hall, Rozier Hall, and the Living Learning Center will be awarded a space in the resident lot based on the number of fall semesters in the residence halls.  If a student has applied for and assigned housing in one of these residence halls by August 1st, he or she will be eligible for a parking space in the resident lot.
    • Students in each of these buildings will be awarded on the basis of seniority as the number of years in our residence halls.  Students may receive up to 5 points (5 for second year seniors; 4 for seniors; 3 for juniors; 2 for sophomores; 1 point for first time residents)
    • All groups which we can fully accommodate will receive a hangtag.  If a student has a (2) value, the selection was made randomly
    • These residents may pick up their parking decals between 7:30am – 4:00pm on Saturday, August 20th in the Office of Campus Police & Safety.  Students obtaining a hang tag for this lot will receive an email to their CBU account on Monday, August 8th.  Students must have their student ID, proof of registration, and complete a vehicle registration card in order to receive the hang tag.
    • Anyone who moves from any of these residences during the semester will automatically forfeit their hangtag for the resident lot.
  • Upperclassman residents of Maurelian, Pender Hall, O’Hara Hall, Rozier Hall, and the Living Learning who do not receive a space in the resident lot will receive a red hang tag to park in the commuter Lot.  These residents may pick up their parking decals between 7:30am – 4:00pm on Friday, August 19th or Saturday, August 20th in the Office of Campus Police & Safety.  Students must have their student ID, proof of registration, and complete a vehicle registration card in order to receive the hang tag.
  • Students with a documented disability requiring handicapped parking can use the designated spaces. If they do not have a state-issued placard or license plates but are registered with the Dean of Students office, they can request a campus tag from the Campus Police & Safety office.
