SGA Executive Council

2019-2020 SGA EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

Our goal this year is to inspire school spirit by bridging gaps through inter-organizational community, inviting participation, encouraging to-way communication while embracing Memphis and upholding the values of CBU.


SGA President

Kristine Truong, Senior Biology Major

Kristine’s role as SGA President is to act as the voice for the student body to the Faculty and Administration of the University. While doing so, she organizes, calls, and presides over meetings of the Executive Council. Additionally, her main goal is to help promote inclusivity for every student within the University’s community while helping to promote the Memphis community within the University. She is also involved in Tri-Beta, President’s Ambassador, and works in the CBU Admissions Department.


VP of Senate

Jocey Flores-Herrera, Junior Cybersecurity & Digital Forensic major with a minor in Management Information Systems

As VP of Senate, Jocey takes charge as the speaker and chairperson of the student senate, which is an elected group of 14 students, representing all campus schools. This organization of students is dedicated to passing resolutions that make a positive impact on the CBU community; they also play a vital role in recognizing clubs on campus. In addition to drafting legislation, the Senate serves alongside the Executive Council as a voice for the CBU students and the community as a whole. Jocey is a member of Voices United, Tri-Beta, Mariposas Collective, as well as serves as a CBU CARL.


VP of Finance

Ricardo Rocha, Junior Accounting Major

Ricardo’s role as VP of Finance is to serve as recording and corresponding Treasurer of the SGA. He establishes and maintains an audit system for the SGA. He also helps to collect and maintain records of money collected at SGA events and distribute allocations for clubs and organizations. Ricardo is a member of the Student Activities Council, a Peer Mentor, and works in Academic Affairs.


VP of Campus Relations

Brooke Johnson, Sophomore Psychology major with a minor in Criminology

As VP of Campus Relations, Brooke serves as a liaison between student organizations and CBU. She leads mandatory workshops for new and current student organizations. She is involved in other organizations, such as the Student Activities Council, Psychology Club, Divine Voice Gospel Choir, CBU’s Cheerleading Squad, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She also volunteers at The Exceptional Foundation Of West TN as a September of Service Team Leader.



VP of Communications

Anna Della Rosa, Senior Psychology major with a minor in Spanish

As VP of Communications, Anna makes flyers for SGA related events and helps promote other organizations’ events. She is expected to regulate SGA’s social media accounts, such as Instagram, and publicizes upcoming events that are hosted by SGA. She also works with VP of Campus Relations to put out a weekly newsletter of events and a monthly calendar. She also takes minutes within EC meetings. Anna is involved in the Student Activities Council, President’s Ambassador Program, Sustainability Coalition, Women’s Soccer team, as well as tutoring Spanish.

As the advisor to SGA, Connie works to challenge and support the members of the Executive Board, ensuring that SGA is meeting all CBU policies and the mission of SGA is being lived out. Additionally, Connie works to help each member develop & navigate through their roles, with the hope that each are given space to learn who they are, so that they can do what they were created to do. Connie is passionate about helping individuals learn how to share their voice and developing their inner potential. You may also see her working as the primary advisor for Greek Life, Student Activities Council, and many large events on campus.
