The mission of fraternity and sorority life at CBU is to support the student experience by offering chapters on campus support services that challenge individuals to become the leaders they were meant to be through education, service and social justice, leadership, and social engagement opportunities.

By participating in fraternity and sorority life at CBU, students will become leaders who:

  • Develop a greater sense of responsibility to contribute to one’s own community through advocacy and service
  • Understand the importance of scholarship and practice of academic responsibility
  • Hone leadership and relationship-building skills and apply them to strengthen their organizations and communities
  • Consider identities, privileges, and preferences
  • Articulate how their co-curricular involvement integrates with their personal and professional goals
  • Identify personal interests, values, strengths, and identities and use these attributes to positively shape their communities
  • Demonstrate an increased sense of belonging at Christian Brothers University

Community Service

Service to others is a key component of Greek Life at CBU. Fraternities and sororities each support charities that are close to their individual missions and we as a collective community come together to support needs in the Mid-South. As a group, we have chosen to support our partner, Catholic Charities, with donations to help them provide hygiene kits to people who may not have access to essential products such as toothpaste or soap. All members of CBU’s Greek Life are encouraged to consider a donation to this worthy cause.
