British Culture and Heritage

The British culture and heritage module provides a deeper understanding of the context and history which has shaped British society, culture, the political landscape and the position of the United Kingdom in the global arena.  The module will also support the development of students’ communication skills in English, both verbal and written. There will also be a series of planned excursions to complement the study programme"

Students will evaluate the different environments within which enterprise operates (including the rise of the digital economy) creating an awareness of emergent business types and their markets and the factors behind small business start-ups. There is also a project which involves students in developing a business idea and planning how this could be brought successfully to the market place. Students will be able to develop and improve their communication skills in English; whilst at the same time building confidence in both writing and verbal discussion. There will also be a series of planned excursions to complement the study programme."
