Lurlynn Franklin: "cross words / qwik chik fixe$" and "fabled truths: self-portaits & works in progress"

Known for themes such as race and gender, Franklin's exhibits contain several pieces based on social issues. In the two exhibits, she juxtaposes not only color and shape but concepts. "My art is in the gray area. We are uncomfortable with that place and that is where we should be. Not everything is black and white like we would like," states Franklin.
