CBU and Purdue Graduate Engineering Partnership

Beginning in Fall 2026, Christian Brothers University and Purdue University will offer four innovative 4+1 engineering pathways designed to expand opportunities for CBU engineering students.

Through this partnership, students can earn their undergraduate engineering degree from CBU while also beginning coursework toward a graduate engineering degree from Purdue.

What This Partnership Means for CBU Students

  • Access to top-ranked Purdue graduate engineering programs
  • Opportunities to continue advanced engineering education
  • Flexible online graduate study options
  • Strong career pathways in high-demand engineering field

How the 4+1 Pathway Works

While enrolled at CBU, juniors and seniors can begin taking online graduate engineering courses through Purdue.

Students may complete up to 12 credit hours of Purdue graduate coursework, which will:

  • Count toward their CBU bachelor’s degree
  • Be applied toward a Purdue online master’s degree once admitted into a Purdue graduate engineering program

This pathway allows students to begin graduate study early while completing their undergraduate degree at CBU.

Graduate Engineering Programs Available

The initial Purdue graduate programs eligible for the 4+1 pathway include:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Interdisciplinary Engineering

These programs provide CBU students with an affordable and flexible pathway to a nationally recognized engineering master’s degree.

*All students must meet CBU undergraduate and Purdue graduate admission requirements.

In Their Words: Purdue + CBU Engineering Experts

“We are excited about the level of interest our students are showing as news of this pathway spreads,” said Andrew Assadollahi, dean of the Gadomski School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University. “This partnership with Purdue represents the primary mission of CBU: to provide our students with opportunities that will encourage them to grow and equip them with the skills needed to pursue their careers and aspirations.”

“Opportunities are no longer limited by borders,” said Dimitrios Peroulis, senior vice president for partnerships and online at Purdue and the Reilly Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “This is part of our goal to pursue strategic partnerships that provide advanced learning opportunities for students who want to be future-ready. We welcome this opportunity to collaborate with CBU.”
