“A House Divided: What Would We Have to Give Up to Get the Political System We Want” is a guided deliberation that invites participants to weigh the pros and cons of three pathways for improving our political system:

  1. reduce dangerous toxic talk;
  2. invest in local and state government; and
  3. make fairer rules in politics (i.e. voter laws, district boundary drawing, etc.).

Led by trained student facilitators, students will discuss each option and reflect on where the group found common ground. Participants practice critical and respectful listening, communication across differing perspectives, and collective problem-solving.
