Micro grids are local energy grids that have autonomous capabilities apart from our traditional energy grid. It is decentralized, meaning communities have the opportunity to operate their grid how they see fit. Cheap renewable energy like wind, solar, geothermal, and others are sources for micro grids. Moving forward in the 21st century, we need to utilize energy that will take care of our planet and our communities. Micro grids do just that.
