Christian Brothers University (CBU) is excited to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees: Justin Brownlee, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Airline Planning for FedEx, and Milton Lovell, President and Chief Investment Officer of Element40 Management, effective February 2026.

Their deep expertise – particularly in leadership, strategy, and aviation – aligns perfectly with CBU’s efforts to develop cutting-edge programs, including new initiatives in aviation and other high-demand fields.”

Justin Brownlee brings more than 26 years of leadership experience at FedEx, where he oversees global flight operations for a crew force of 5,200 pilots and a fleet of nearly 400 aircraft serving 220 countries and territories. Brownlee also leads Global Operations Control, the nerve center responsible for real-time monitoring and optimization of FedEx’s worldwide network. A four-time recipient of the prestigious FedEx Express Five Star Award, Brownlee holds both a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in business administration from Christian Brothers University. He also serves on the board of Orbis International, a global nonprofit dedicated to fighting preventable blindness.

Milton Lovell is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Element40 Management, a Memphis-based family office. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel at nexAir, following a successful legal career with Burch, Porter & Johnson. Lovell’s civic leadership includes roles with the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Board and Executive Committee; Presbyterian Day School; Truist Bank’s Memphis Community Advisory Board; and the Crosstown Redevelopment Cooperative Association. He is also a past Chair of the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association Board of Directors. Lovell earned degrees from the University of Mississippi, New York University School of Law, and Harvard Business School.

The CBU Board of Trustees serves as the University’s governing body, providing strategic direction and fiduciary oversight, supporting the advancement of its academic and community impact.
