Dr. Shima Farhesh

Dr. Shima Farhesh is the Associate Director of Academic Support at Christian Brothers University, where she oversees peer education, the First Year Experience, student accommodations, and success initiatives. An applied linguist and TESOL scholar, she holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Memphis and brings over a decade of experience across ESL instruction, writing program coordination, and language assessment. Her work centers on language-based equity and the role of AI in teaching. What excites her most is watching students grow in confidence through the peer tutors and mentors she trains. Outside work, she loves cooking and baking.
