Christian Brothers University (CBU) has once again earned a place on Forbes’ “America’s Top Colleges” list for the 2026–27 academic year, marking the University’s second consecutive appearance among the nation’s top 500 colleges.

CBU is one of only 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee to receive this national recognition.

Forbes’ annual ranking evaluates institutions based on measures of academic, financial, and career success, with an emphasis on the outcomes students achieve from their college education.

“We have been entrusted with something precious: a mission, a community and the futures of the students who come through our doors,” said Ronald L. Brandon, CBU President. “That responsibility inspires us to ensure every student’s experience is valuable, meaningful, and prepares them to live their purpose.”

Preparing Students for What Comes Next

The recognition reflects CBU’s commitment to providing students with a personalized education that connects classroom learning with career preparation and real-world experience. At CBU, students benefit from an 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio, creating opportunities for individualized instruction, mentorship, and meaningful connections with faculty.

That personalized experience is paired with strong career outcomes. Ninety-eight percent of CBU graduates are employed or enrolled in graduate school within six to 12 months of graduation, compared with a national average of approximately 65%.

Students also have access to internships, externships, career coaching, and connections with employers throughout Memphis and beyond – supporting recent graduates and alumni even after graduation.

Affordability remains another important part of the CBU experience. Ninety-nine percent of CBU’s traditional undergraduate students receive financial assistance, supporting the University’s Lasallian commitment to making a quality education more accessible.

CBU’s impact extends beyond graduation. According to the Forbes study, 83% of CBU alumni remain in the Memphis area, contributing their knowledge and talents to businesses, nonprofit organizations, healthcare institutions, and communities throughout the region.

Together, these outcomes demonstrate the value of a CBU education and reinforce the University’s mission to prepare students for rewarding careers.
