Christian Brothers University is pleased to announce that Dr. Ricky Jackson has been appointed Director of Athletics at Christian Brothers University. Over the past year, Ricky has served as Interim Director of Athletics, providing steady leadership, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to our student-athletes’ success. 

Prior to joining CBU, Ricky held athletics leadership roles at Talladega College and Colorado Mesa University and spent nine successful seasons as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Claflin University, where he led the program to its first NCAA Division II SIAC Conference Championship and an NCAA Regional appearance. His coaching career includes multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and a proven record of success on and off the court.

Ricky’s passion for student-athlete development and his extensive experience in athletics administration make him well-suited to lead CBU Athletics into its next chapter.

Dr. Jackson also expressed his appreciation to those who have supported CBU Athletics over the past year. “I am grateful to Brother Chris Englert, FSC, and Ron Brandon for their support and leadership, and to our coaches, athletics staff, and student-athletes for their commitment to Buc Athletics. Their dedication to our mission has laid a strong foundation for the future, and I am excited for what lies ahead.”
