Purdue University and Christian Brothers University (CBU) are sharing new details about their growing partnership, including four innovative 4+1 programs launching in Fall 2026. The collaboration will create a pathway to Purdue’s online graduate engineering programs, allowing CBU students to earn their undergraduate degree while completing credits toward a Purdue graduate engineering degree.

While enrolled at CBU, juniors and seniors can begin taking online Purdue graduate engineering courses. They can take up to 12 credit hours which will count toward their CBU bachelor’s degree. Those same credit hours can be also applied towards a Purdue online master’s degree once the students are accepted into a Purdue engineering master’s program.

“We are excited about the level of interest our students are showing as news of this pathway spreads,” said Andrew Assadollahi, dean of the Gadomski School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University. “This partnership with Purdue represents the primary mission of CBU: to provide our students with opportunities that will encourage them to grow and equip them with the skills needed to pursue their careers and aspirations.”

The initial graduate programs eligible for this 4+1 credit program will be:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Interdisciplinary Engineering

The partnership is a step towards building a new relationship between the two institutions, creating pathways for greater collaboration and opportunities for students, staff and faculty of both universities. It provides CBU students with an affordable, flexible way to earn a master’s degree in engineering while bridging the professional gap between the two campuses.

“Opportunities are no longer limited by borders,” said Dimitrios Peroulis, senior vice president for partnerships and online at Purdue and the Reilly Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

“This is part of our goal to pursue strategic partnerships that provide advanced learning opportunities for students who want to be future-ready. We welcome this opportunity to collaborate with CBU.”
