Christian Brothers University is committed to making a quality, private education affordable. Over 96 percent of our full-time students receive financial assistance through various federal, private, and institutional funding programs. We work very hard with each student to help them remove barriers that stand in the way of pursuing their educational goals.
Financial Aid Checklist
- Apply for Admission. You must be admitted to the university before receiving a scholarship or financial aid award.
- Submit the FAFSA. Offers of financial aid will be sent on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will be considered for maximum funding if FAFSA is received by March 1.
- Watch your mail and respond promptly to any additional requests
Types of Assistance
We believe that money should never stand in the way of your education. Therefore, we take very special care in making sure that all qualified applicants can afford to be at CBU. Our Admissions and Financial Aid Counselors work closely with students and families to make sure you understand your options.
The following types of assistance are available to you:
GRANTS
- Grants do not have to be repaid.
- Students must meet certain criteria which is usually need based.
- Only available to undergraduate students.
LOANS
- Loans must be repaid with interest
- Student will have consequences for failure to repay.
- Available to undergraduate and graduate students
SCHOLARSHIPS
- Scholarships don't have to be repaid.
- Student must meet certain criteria and deadlines.
- Available to undergraduate students only
WORK-STUDY
- On-campus employment
