The Office of Student Life is holding a Graduation Fair, which is mandatory for graduating students. The event will be held on March 26, 2019 in Sabbatini Lounge. The average time you will need to set aside for the grad fair is about 30 minutes. You must attend one of the two sessions:
- March 26, Noon - 1:30 p.m.
- March 26, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
At the Graduation Fair, photographers will take cap and gown (loaned for the occasion) photos of graduating students. There is no sitting fee and no obligation to purchase. Proofs will be emailed to you within 48 hours of the sitting.
Custom-imprinted graduation announcements will be provided for you at the Graduation Fair. Each student will receive 15 announcements.
Traditional academic regalia (cap and gown) is considered standard apparel for graduates at Commencement. To ensure proper sizing, please submit your regalia sizes through the Graduate Information Form as soon as possible. Caps and gowns will be distributed on May 8, 2019. Fraternity and sorority stoles, pins, etc. may be worn during the Commencement exercises and the baccalaureate.
Remember that you'll be wearing a long robe over your clothes, so dress comfortably in cool, lightweight fabrics to avoid the possibility of overheating. Wear something with pockets so you can carry your wallet and phone. To make it across the field without incident or tripping, we recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and avoiding heels on the field.
Printed programs containing the names of graduates, a list of faculty, and other information about Commencement will be distributed on Commencement day. Your program will be on your chair.
Please silence cell phones and personal electronic devices during the ceremony.
We expect the field to be wet. Graduates and guests should wear appropriate shoes for those conditions. Graduates will receive ponchos, and guests should plan on dressing appropriately for the rain. REMINDER: Commencement will be live-streamed in the University Theater for any guests who might not want to watch in the rain.
We are continuing to monitor the weather forecasts for tomorrow morning closely. Please know that safety remains our priority, and we are prepared to take measures to protect our guests and participants should the weather conditions turn severe.
Meeting Guests after the Ceremony
Please make arrangements before Commencement to meet your family and friends after the ceremony. Please remind guests that the audience must remain in their seats during the Recessional.
