Why Live on Campus at CBU?

Live Where You Learn – Boost Your Success at CBU
When you live on campus at CBU, you’re setting yourself up for more than just convenience—you’re setting yourself up for success. Research consistently shows that students who live on campus tend to earn higher grades and graduate at higher rates than those who live off campus. Why? It’s all about connection and access.
Living on campus at CBU puts you at the heart of the action, combining convenience, community, and comfort in one vibrant experience. Here’s why students love it:
- Steps from Class: Walk to lectures, labs, and the library—no long commutes required.
- Built-In Community: Make lifelong friends and connections with classmates right outside your door. Resident Assistants and program events help you get involved and feel at home.
- Vibrant Campus Life: Participate in clubs, athletics, and campus events without leaving your residence hall.
- Fully Equipped Spaces: Each hall offers comfortable living spaces, furnished bedrooms, and shared areas for studying, hanging out, or socializing.
- Supportive Environment: On-site staff are there to help you navigate college life, from academics to wellness and everything in between.
- Convenience and Comfort: Access laundry, high-speed internet, and all the amenities you need—plus the ability to personalize your space to make it your own.
Living on campus isn’t just about having a place to sleep—it’s a launchpad for academic achievement, experiencing college life fully, building your community, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Make Your CBU Residence Hall Room Feel Like Home
Living on campus at CBU gives you the perfect chance to create a space that’s all your own—a cozy retreat where you can relax after classes and unwind with friends. Not sure where to start? Here are a few tips to help you personalize your room and make it feel like home:
- Check the Details: Review your room description and floor plan so you know exactly what to expect.
- Bring Personal Touches: Photos, collages, favorite posters, and small keepsakes from home make your space familiar and inviting—and help your roommate get to know you!
- Cozy Up Your Floors: Stritch Hall and the Capstone Apartments have carpeted rooms, but Maurelian and Rozier Hall do not. Add area rugs or throw rugs to make your room warmer and more comfortable. Be sure to check room dimensions before choosing.
- Coordinate With Roommates: If you have a roommate, chat ahead of time about what each of you will bring—lamps, décor, mini-fridges, or electronics—to avoid duplicates.
- Add Life to Your Space: Plants and greenery not only brighten a room, but they also add a touch of personality.
- Need Guidance? If you have questions about what to bring or anything else about housing and dining, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Your residence hall room is more than just a place to sleep—it’s your personal space to study, relax, and thrive. Make it yours!
