What scholarships do you offer international students (non-athletes)?

All non-athlete international students, including transfer students, receive the International Access Scholarship, valued at $22,750 annually. The only requirements are meeting our admission standard, which is a 3.0 GPA (or international equivalent), and living on campus. The scholarship is applied automatically, and there is no separate application for it. However, this scholarship cannot be combined with any other CBU scholarships. You can see an example price breakdown for the 2025-2026 academic year below:

Example Annual CBU Tuition
Annual Tuition$39,750.00
+ Food & Housing$9,830.00
+ Health Insurance $1,200.00
Total Tuition & Fees$50,780.00
-Scholarship$22,750.00

Note that the New Student Orientation (NSO) fee is included in the “Books, Health Insurance, & Fees” category. NSO is mandatory, and this fee cannot be waived.

What scholarships do you offer international student athletes?

International student-athletes may earn athletic scholarships and grade-based academic merit scholarships.

The athletic scholarships are awarded by the coaching staff.

The amount of the academic merit scholarship is determined by the student’s grades and whether they are a first-year or transfer student.

International Transfer Students

Transferring credits from a US institution to CBU

In order to transfer credits from another US institution to CBU, you need to have your previous institution(s) send your official transcript(s) to the CBU Admissions Office. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at your previous institution(s) to initiate this process.

Please note that not all your credits may be transferred to CBU.

  • CBU only accepts credits from regionally/nationally accredited institutions.
  • We will do our best to give you as many credits as possible for the classes you have already taken.
  • If you are transferring from another US institution, your SEVIS needs to be transferred to CBU. Please give this document to the DSO at your current US institution to initiate the process.

Transferring credits from an international institution to CBU

To transfer credits from an international institution to CBU, you need to upload your transcript(s) from your previous institution(s) to your CBU admissions portal.

  • A transcript evaluation through SpanTran or IEE may be required.
  • Please note that not all your credits may be transferred to CBU.
  • We will do our best to give you as many credits as possible for the classes you have already taken.
Health Insurance

Is health insurance required?

All international students enrolled in courses at CBU are required to carry our well-vetted, comprehensive health insurance policy. We enroll you in this plan automatically once you have enrolled in classes.

Do I have to purchase health insurance through CBU?

Yes, all international students must purchase health insurance through CBU.

How am I charged for health insurance?

The health insurance fee is added to your TouchNet account, which is where you will also pay your tuition and other fees. The insurance fee can be wrapped into your payment plan. You can access this account via MyCBU.

Pre-Arrival Information

How do I get to campus from the airport?

We recommend using Uber or Lyft to get from the airport to CBU as the campus is only 15 minutes away. It would be a good idea to download one of these apps and input your credit card information before departing your home country.

Our address is:

650 East Parkway South
Memphis, Tennessee 38104

Ask your driver to go through the resident gate to the north of the main entrance to drop you off.

Housing

Are Undergraduate international students required to live on campus?

Undergraduate international students who have received the International Access Scholarship are required to live on campus.

If you are not on the International Access Scholarship, you may live off campus. However, living on campus is highly encouraged because it is convenient and can help you feel more connected to the CBU community.

If you would like to request a roommate, the housing team will do their best to accommodate your request.
