Handshake is CBU’s new online recruitment system that connects students and alumni with job and internship opportunities.

Handshake For Students: Current/returning students already have a Handshake account waiting for them, and should sign in with the current CBU email address and password. New, incoming, and transfer students will have an account created for them (by our ITS Department) under their CBU email address prior to the start of their first semester.  Each student will receive a Handshake welcome email when their account is ready, so there is no need to create your own account.

Students can browse employment listings (full-time, part-time, internships, and on-campus student employment), as well as post resumes, cover letters, and other professional documents. Students can also schedule appointments to meet with Career Services staff members, RSVP to recruiting events, and more!

Handshake For Alumni: If you had an account as a student (May 2020 graduates and later), you can continue to use your existing student account as an alumnus.  Alumni who do not have an account (December 2019 graduates and earlier) can create one at this link, though they do not need to use their CBU email address.  Alumni accounts can be created with personal email addresses.

The same functionality available to students is also available to our alumni; browse employment opportunities (full-time, part-time, internships, and more), as well as post resumes, cover letters, and other professional documents. Schedule appointments with staff members to discuss resumes, conduct mock interviews, or review job search strategies.

Handshake for Employers: Allows employers to post job opportunities (full-time, part-time, internships, co-ops, and more) and make them available to CBU students and alumni, while also being able to search for resumes from qualified candidates.

There are additional employers that notify us via email of opportunities that are available at their various company websites. Several of these company sites are linked from the Handshake account home page. Some of these companies will post positions through Handshake, while some will only be listed on the various company sites. For additional job search tools and organizations with links for specific majors, check out our page of other Career Resources.
