As a student in the fine arts, you will be challenged to combine your creative and intellectual process while learning to communicate beyond the academic spectrum. At CBU, our students are guided in all aspects of their Lasallian education to become imaginative problem solvers who possess the ability to create individual and socially relevant works of art.

Through small classroom numbers, students enjoy personalized instruction at the highest academic level. You will rapidly develop a sense of community with your peers — as well as your professors — through on-campus and citywide activities.

The study of art history is a vital part of all Visual Art concentrations. It places art in a historical context along with religious, cultural, and social issues forming a deeper understanding of how art contributes to our rapidly changing world.

In the Department of Visual & Performing Arts, students will have many opportunities to become aware of global issues in the arts through local exhibitions and performances, internships, visits to campus by artists from around the world, and study abroad programs.
