As an art student you will be challenged to combine your creative and intellectual process while learning to communicate beyond the Visual Arts spectrum. At CBU, our students are guided in all aspects of their Lasallian education to become imaginative problem solvers who possess the ability to create individual and socially relevant works of art.
Through small classroom numbers, students enjoy personalized instruction at the highest academic level. You will rapidly develop a sense of community with your peers as well as your professors through campus and city wide activities.
Each student will choose a concentration from one of the following areas: Graphic Design, Studio Arts, Art Therapy, or Art Education, in order to complete their major. The study of art history is a vital part of all Art concentrations. It places art in a historical context along with religious, cultural, and social issues forming a deeper understanding of how art contributes to our rapidly changing world.
In our Visual Arts Department, students will have many opportunities to become aware of global issues in art through local exhibitions, internships, visits to campus by artists from around the world, and study abroad programs.
If you are interested in Theatre, the program at CBU offers a minor with many opportunities for both actors and stage technicians to develop skills and gain experience.
