The Institute for Leadership Development at Christian Brothers University is proud to offer a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Leadership (CDL).  The curriculum provides organizational change agents with a roadmap for providing a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for employees, customers/clients, and the broader organizational community.

Description of the program

The CDL is a transformative experience designed to deepen participants’ understanding and appreciation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and the importance of fostering a sense of belonging as leaders. Using case studies that simulate organizational responses to DEIB initiatives, participants develop awareness, knowledge, and skills to drive meaningful organizational change.  Participants learn best practices when advocating for equitable practices, policies, and opportunities. The content emphasizes the commitment to ongoing learning and growth, encouraging participants to become allies in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in their personal and professional spheres. 

Successful completion of the certificate requires attendance and participation in at least five of the six half-day Leadership Labs (1:00 – 4:30 pm) covering the following topics:

  • Leadership Lab Three: Thursday, February 15 Developing An Inclusive Culture

  • Leadership Lab Five: Thursday, March 14 DEIB and Engagement: Positive Ways to Ensure Commitment of All
  • Leadership Lab Six: Thursday, April 4 DEIB in Action: Best Practices and Continued Improvement Measures
