Harichand Nair
Dr. Harichand Nair has served as the Manager of SAP Application Development at International Paper for the past 20 years and is also an Instructor in the Department of Graduate Engineering at Christian Brothers University, teaching in the Master of Science in Computer Information Systems program — including courses in Supply Chain Analytics, Management of Information Systems, and CIS Capstone Projects. Dr. Nair earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, one of the most reputed institutes in India and the oldest engineering college in the state of Kerala. He continued his education by earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and a PhD in Information Systems Management at Walden University.
Dr. Nair is considered a dedicated and resourceful enterprise resource planning (ERP) development manager. He has more than 15 years of experience in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of various business software applications and, is the lead at International Paper who is responsible for developing and managing applications such as Systems Applications and Products (SAP R/3), Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Java, Visual Basic (VB), webMethods, and Mainframe objects. Throughout his career, he has led large, complex, and risky critical enterprise initiatives while managing costs, scope, risks, and issues associated with various projects.
Dr. Nair is known for his energy and motivates project teams to complete projects or program objectives and tailors the project disciplines with input from those teams — experience which he also brings to his students in his classes at CBU. In addition, he utilizes his knowledge of creating and monitoring project schedules, integrating project scope, definition, budget, project documentation, resource allocation, execution, deployment, and administrative closure as a CBU faculty member.
Dr. Nair is SAP-certified as a Root Cause Analysis Expert in SAP E2E Solutions Operations, SAP training (Finance, ABAP, Workflow, ALE, HR, BAPI, Netweaver), and post-graduate computer training in IBM Enterprise System/9000 (Mainframe, DB2, CICS, CSP, and JCL). Has also has core skills for Managing Projects (Martin Training Associates). Dr. Nair has received many teaching and professional awards, including Faculty Scholar in 2011 and Outstanding Faculty in 2015. In addition, Dr. Nair has received the Key Driver Award, the Diversity and Inclusion Impact Award, and the Information Technology Innovation Award from International Paper.
