School of Business
The School of Business at CBU offers undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and professional development programs. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science can choose from five majors: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management, or Marketing.
The Business Administration degree includes four concentrations: Banking, International Business, Management Information Systems, and Sport Management.
Faculty-guided internships with Memphis-area businesses are built into the senior year.
Study abroad opportunities extend that experience beyond the U.S., and active chapters of Delta
Sigma Pi and the Institute of Management Accountants recognize leadership and scholarly
achievement across the University.
The Business School is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
It is one of the two major business school accreditations in the United States.
The accreditation process evaluates leadership, strategic planning, faculty credentials, academic program quality, and commitment to continuous improvement, based on the Baldrige Criteria for Excellence in Educational Performance.

Accounting – Available as a major + minor. You’ll learn financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and cost accounting. Structured for students pursuing CPA licensure, corporate finance, or public accounting careers.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) – You’ll learn applied management, leadership, and problem-solving for working professionals. Small cohorts, accessible faculty, and direct connections to Memphis business leaders.
Memphis Business Community Access
The School of Business places students inside Memphis’s business community before graduation. Senior-year internships are structured through faculty relationships with local firms across finance, logistics, retail, and healthcare industries that define the Memphis economy.
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation connects students with founders, investors, and early-stage companies in the Memphis startup corridor. The Executives in Residence program brings working executives into the classroom for lectures, one-on-one sessions, and mentoring, not as a supplemental offering but as part of how the school operates.
The School of Business Advisory Board includes alumni and executives who contribute directly to curriculum direction and student opportunities. Members hold credentials across banking, corporate finance, and organizational leadership, and several have held senior roles with Memphis-based institutions.
