Jasmin Nuhic came to CBU to earn his third higher education degree, a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership, a formerly offered program that was designed to blend the best business practices with a strong sense of ethics and a commitment to community service. He says that the lesson he learned that has helped most in his life is “Be Positive” — which he derived from a class called Leading With Positivity. “It completely changed the way I live my life,” Jasmin states.

Currently the Director of Advanced Operations at Stryker, Jasmin has spent his professional career in the medical technology industry and has been recognized as a “Featured Engineer for Tri-State Area” representing 14 different professional organizations and has earned certifications in Coaching, Ethical Leadership, and Cross-Cultural Intelligence. He has also written six books on Individual Development Plans and spends much of his spare time coaching and mentoring young professionals who are just beginning their careers. He has been a frequent guest lecturer at CBU and helped School of Business students write their own Individual Development Plans and guided them in their career journeys.

On a personal level, besides being a devoted father and husband, Jasmin was selected as one of the Top 10 Handball Players in the U.S. during his collegiate career at the University of Memphis, he volunteers as a coach with youth sports, and is passionate about flying airplanes and the Memphis Aerotropolis. He is also a certified volunteer with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and serves on a Community Emergency Response Team to provide aid in disasters and humanitarian crises.

My favorite memory of CBU is working on a community project which we titled ‘JAM’ (Just Appreciate Memphis). It was a true honor to work on this with two of my classmates, and under the mentoring or Dr. Bev Vitali.
